Heartbeat
Uh, wow, so much to type, so little time and space. I'll start by wishing all visitors a happy, blest, and fulfilling following year.
JC is up for me next year, and I'm in MJC. Being uber competitive, they asked all the cohort to pre-orientation this wednesday, right smack in the middle of the KSS (Kingdom Seekers Senior) Camp. So I went, and I found out that few of my classmates got in, seems like most went to Tampines, but I did see Khalid, Douglas and Qauhar (might not have spelt correctly, lol). Being me, I also got to know many staff already, the subject combo online sign-up site was bugged. So after I tried in the library I went to the admin office to report it. I'm taking phy/chem + geog.
My family is currently in Penang, so I'm going have to make the most of my time w/o them, they cause a lot of distractions. And, I still need to clear my room.
Anyway, my December has been totally consumed by stuff, although it doesn't matter much now that computer games are less appealing to me. But I still regret Egypt. The food there is very good, seeing as I went to 5-Star places, however the air was cold and dry. Now, my skin is recovering from dryness and mosquitoe bites from camps.
My weight is now declared to be above 50kg. That's not good. I do hope I look alright, because my aim is below 50kg, and JC is next year. And I blame all the excessive eating in the KS Camp and Egypt. (by the way, nuggets in MJC is cheaper than VS, 80 cents for 3 instead of 30 cents for 1 [see? I can't stop myself eating when there's opportunity, so I must remove opportunities])
The KSS Camp was great! It has been a long time since I heard so much guitar and singing. I also got to be the tribe (group) leader and cheerleader! Okay, take back the second one, it was fun but still embarrassing. Ended up using balloons for pom-poms and standing on the legs of 2 large older guys.
That happened on the last night of the camp. Before that was the BBQ. And I did eat raw food. 3 senior guys were daring each other to eat a stick of raw mutton satay. One backed out, and I happened to be nearby so popped one into my mouth (always looking for an excuse to eat raw food). Its so difficult to chew into small bits, so I softened it and swallowed. Later I tried the chicken one, with similar results, but the other guys backed out, for fear of getting sick. Still, look at me, I'm alright and much smaller size than them! I got stomach power, extra acid for the extra meat I eat.
Meanwhile, I've been eyeing all that muscle many of the guys have. Envious? no, just worried. Do I really have to build up that much before NS, plus more during NS?! Also important, how?! Speaking of NS, I got to try the combat rations. Those in packets, either I got a good type, or I'm odd, because most everyone else found them repulsive. Still, I could use a bit of salt.
I got a haircut before the camp. My hair is quite short now, should last me through CNY. Also, I got my fingernails shortened. I use a combination of scissors and file (or emory board) for a personal manicure. Being a perfectionist I make sure they curve well. Seems like I stock up on keratin during the holidays and then cut them away.
Now that is/was a really long post, though *required*. Enjoy your (and everone else's) New Year!
