Choices
My will is bound, yet amongst my options I cannot yet discern that which truly pleasing unto God, nor have I clarified my motive. And then, I have not yet fully mastered both pride and envy. I must reprioritise.
A long lead-in sentence, I suppose. This may also be a rather lengthy post. I have just returned from a long time of inactivity (online anyways). I think I shall have to type things out chronologically, starting from where I left off..
Penang. Good food, but I would have none of it's street fare. I stuffed myself at buffet breakfasts at the hotels (and have hit 55kg XD). Then I would oft skip lunch, but it doesn't counter the amounts I took in. I did go to the gym twice, though, without anyone's knowledge. Training went well, but I didn't burn fat. The night market was more interesting that that of Egypt's, though the stuff sold in both countries tended to have the 'made in China' mark. I have bought some stuffs back. Perhaps I could have a gift for you, if you ask. (though 'no' is still an answer)
My brothers fell sick during the trip. Partly digested food substances flowed from both ends of their alimentary canal. And there was fever too. I caught a bit of the germs, but I only got a mild fever. Oh, and my father caught it too, after he came back, got it quite bad too.
Then KSS Retreat. I cycled to the site, as planned. However I was certainly in a weakened state, suffering from both being a bit ill and lack of sleep. The sleep part is a reason why I did not want to go overseas. The messages were good, and quite a refresher. Fellowship was good too, oh, and the fellowhip of the cube, hehx. I know I did not function at optimum, but that was expected with the illness still afflicting me. I also had the opportunity to sort out some of my doubts (but not all solved yet XD), both by consultation and reading the Bible. I thank God for the Retreat, it has truly benefitted me, and I'm sure most others would say the same.
I managed to solve the Rubik's cube while I was in Penang. Initially I had to use a corners first method as I was really limited, but then I went to research for a 3-corner algorithm, which was suprisingly simple. So now my speed would be better, and I shall buy a real (or at least better) cube soon. I brought my one dollar cube to the Retreat, and Cheryl brought her real one. Jere had become Cheryl's protege, and he actually managed to learn to solve using a common method (however I still think it's better if one solves it by themselves first before learning further). More people did become interested, but well, there were only 2 cubes, so the fellowship of the cube couldn't really be well defined.
Apparently my chosen manner of solution differs quite a lot from the common method. This is with regard to the last layer. The common method is to orientate the edges, position the edges, position the corners, orientate the corners. The one I use is to orientate the edges, position the corners, orientate the corners, position the edges.
