Garden Politics
"The kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it."
Likewise, I seem to have found in you spiritual wealth, and I wish to leave off all others, that you may be second only to Christ in my life.
"For we are saved by hope: but 'hope' that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
Likewise, I hope that my waiting shall not be in vain, though I cannot clearly see the ways of your heart.
Now do I realise that the words of the Bible with regard to the promise of heaven can oft be applied to life, so long as the motive is kept free from the flesh. However, I must make mention that it is still to fear the Lord, seeking heaven, that those verses point to, and thus I will try to follow it's wisdom firstly in the raw sense.
Today Horticulture Society did out it's ExCo elections, and the J2's have more-or-less settled the positions of the next batch of leaders. I played a game of politics, and the outcome has been precisely reflected by the vote I cast. The process did require me to interrogate, bring up points at the right time, and assess the views of others. Of course, I have not really effected much, for I believe that the positions I concluded upon are largely based on each individual's ability set, so I am merely helping to establish their status (and prevent inefficiency). Hence I do hope that the right people are in the right jobs.
Meh! I still haven't come to fully accept I fell asleep in Geography lecture today! All I did was to lay down, close my eyes for a second, experienced thoughts and situations flashing through my head (probably dreams), and then sit up to realise more than half the lecture had past. Of course, I didn't miss out much, seeing as it was about global warming and the greenhouse effect - something most of us know too much about already. But still! XD It seemed only an instant of rest! I did feel better after the nap though..
The guys' soccer finals will take place tomorrow. I have not prepared what props we were suggested to make for use in support, but perhaps I will be allowed the honour of swinging the flag. Personally I feel that flags swung in sync are a good source of encouragement for those shouting cheers. Although, on my part, I am quite capable of cheering loudly while swinging a flag.
