Full Day Out
It's.. just not easy
We finally received a full day off from Ah Meng. He still owes us a few more. Anyway, the class scattered almost the moment we were dismissed. Such is the poor class cohesion some have noted. Of course, half the guys clustered together and went out as a group to 'celebrate'. We first went to play pool, which I did okay, although I fared worse as time wore on. I still haven't figured out why.
Afterwards, a group of four went to my place, where we played bridge and then monopoly. Despite CG and I bequeathing property to CY as we went bankrupt one by one, we were all beat by Chen. We finally gave up when CY threw a 6,4 to land on an expensive site. CG wasn't about to give in, so he argued for another chance, rolling 6,4 too. I thought I'd take a go too, and also rolled 6,4. Just look at it, WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THAT?! XD So we granted Chen his win and left, late for Ben & Jerry's.
Then at Cathay, just over half the class shared the vouchers won by some photo-taking competition. Now I was thinking we'd all be over-stuffed with ice-cream, but this was not the case. Apparently the outlet did not have stock of tubs of ice-cream, so we got dishes. Although the deco was nice, it was way overpriced for the amount of ice-cream. I'm a bit put off, but I suppose it would be more fattening if we had got tubs (which may be double the quantity).
The class soon disintegrated (or differentiated) again; I went along with some of the guys. After we lunched, we wandered around Plaza Singapura, dropping by a noisy games arcade. Then I left to take a bus back to school to sell flowers.
Okay, now I'm faced with the challenge to trying to describe HTML skills that takes experience to understand, not words XD. The first one is easier than the next.
To post videos. Look at the page with your video. If you're on the video's main page, you'll see a sidebar with information on the video. Somewhere along it you'll see a length of code under the word Embed. Click it, then press Ctrl-C to copy the code. Go to your new/edit post and look to the right of the the title blank. You'll see the words 'Edit Html' and 'Compose'. Click on the Edit Html tab. Scroll to the spot you want the video to be and press Ctrl-V to paste the code. The video will now be part of your post. Note that some videos won't allow you the Embed option, you can't do anything about that but link to that site.
To put up music. There are many ways to get music playing. Mine is probably a more professional method than most. I suggest asking other people for good websites that can help you with music (both the how-to and uploading) if you can't get what I'm about to type. Now, I choose from my collection of tracks which song I would like to put as a background music. [Optional step: decrease the file size (compromising quality) with Windows Audio Converter.] Then I go to my Geocities account to host the track there. After I upload the track, I copy it's link and then use the HTML embed tag to make the track live on the blog. The code to place in your Template is <embed align="right" src="http://sample host/You_Raise_Me_Up.wma" width="150" height="25" loop="NONE" autostart="TRUE"></embed>. Vary the code to change it's size and position, loop and autostart.
Yesterday I went to cheer on the Girls' Hockey team; my arms and shoulders are aching slightly from the encounter. I finally got hands on the flag, and I swung it almost throughout the game. VJC won 1-0 over SAJC, making it a 6-time Champion streak. I feel a bit sad for SAJC, their guys also lost 0-1 to RJC and their supporters had to cheer for both games. Though, it was all expected. On the bright side, at least they're number 2. What I've heard is that SAJC is comparatively stronger in Hockey and Soccer because their best runners don't feel like SAJC Track is good enough. Can this be verified?
Actually, if one might notice, VJC may be better in the girls' sports than the guys'. For example, the Soccer and Hockey girls' teams won the championships, but the guys made 2nd and 3rd respectively. There might be an obvious reason: VJC has significantly more girls than guys, resulting in a larger pool to seek out talent. Of course, that the guys can still do this well also shows a lot. Ah well.. too bad I can't do sport, so I'm left with shouting cheers from the stands.
